Seki city, Japan has been the centre of Japanese cutlery production since the middle of the13th century. The techniques and skills of traditional swordsmiths have been passed down for centuries and continues to develop with modern technology. Mcusta combines the traditional Japanese craftsmanship with modern machinery and design software. Unlike other brands, Mcusta does not use the conventional method of die stamping their blades. Every component is CNC machined and laser cut to assure the best possible precision fit. Each knife is then hand assembled and hand finished and inspected by Mcusta’s craftsmen. The large Tsuchi is a gentleman’s folder with an impressive hammered stainless steel handle. The hammer pattern continues on to the blade flats and the blued pivot hardware and thumb studd compliments the design nicely. The blade is a 33 layer VG-10 core nickel Damascus. These knives are a testament to fine Japanese craftsmanship. They reflect beauty in simplicity of design, while being a totally functional piece of cutlery. Overall length 19.4 cm.
