The blade material is “Ripple Pattern” Damascus Steel hand forged by Chad Nichols etched with “Boker Damast”, “Solingen Stainless”, and an individual serial number. Damascus Steel is made by forging & folding together hundreds of layers of hard & soft steel, and then etching them with acid. The acid dissolves the layers at different rates resulting in a visible pattern on the steel. The alternating layers give more flexibility & toughness to the steel, and the hard & soft in the edge act much like micro-serrations that aid cutting. The handle is Bog Oak Wood with a Round Nickel Silver Boker Inlay shield. The bolsters are highly polished Nickel Silver.
