1984 Boker Annual Damascus folding knife. Boker began creating annual Damascus knives in 1980, making this part of a very limited set to the series. A German-American, enthusiastic big game hunter, helped us with this model. The 2000 series is still part of our standard program today, after we have sent many thousands of these knives with different shell materials, blade shapes and steels all over the world… We were the first to discover the Thuya bulb for the knife industry. Compared to briar, there were much larger tubers from Thuya in southern France and North Africa. So we could build this massive knife without much pain with shells made of this expressive wood. The massive jaws are cold formed from brass, which requires us to use a 200t press to apply the necessary forces. The new, contemporary model 2000 and the high acceptance of the Böker Damascus series made us bold and increased the number of pieces to 999. We still consider this figure to be the right amount and will not increase it any further. The price at that time was 360,- DM. Already in the first year a considerable list of standing orders was formed. Without knowing the new annual knife, it was firmly ordered. We rewarded this by guaranteeing the customer the same serial numbers for his knives. As a result, there are many collectors at home and abroad who now have all 29 knives in the series – with one and the same serial number. Comes in a wooden box. Pictures are part of the description. Fontenille Pataud Corsican Guilles Vendetta Damascus Folding Knife Thuya Handle. Fontenille Pataud Guilles Corsican Vendetta Damascus folding knife with Thuya burl handle and Twist pattern Damasteel blade. Custom, hand-made in Thiers, France. The blade measures 10cm or 4 long and is made of Damasteel, a high-quality stainless Damascus steel produced in Sweden. It has a nail mark on the left side of the blade, as well as the Guilles stamp on the tang. The right side of the blade has V5-026 lightly etched at the upper left. The twist pattern is very nice, with bold stars at the bottom. You can see the Damascus layers on the spine of the blade as well. When folded, the knife measures 12 cm or 4-5/8 long. Open it measures 22cm or 8-1/2. It weighs 130 grams. The spring has a guillochage (hand filed) decorative pattern on the top and has a blade stop system; Fontenille Pataud makes strong, forged bee stops, not cheaply welded ones. The bolster is brushed stainless steel. Condition of the knife is used, good. The blade is straight and very sharp, no nicks to the edge and the point is needle fine. There are some tiny little spots on the blade, I’m not sure if they are corrosion or just from the forging process. The blade has no looseness or play and locks open tightly. The bolsters have a couple of small dark spots on them and some fine scratches in places. The inside liner is clean with no rust or corrosion. No damage to the wood scales of the handle.
