This linerlock folder by William McHenry features a damascus blade with fileworked spine, and a thumbstud with a saphire inlay. The handle has damascus bolsters, mastadon scales and stainless steel backspacer. One screw on the bolster has the initials WM and the other has filework as well. Inside the spine is engraved McHenry 1991 125. His initials can also be found near the base of the blade. There is a small section of abalone shell in the spine. Measures approx 6″ open and 3 1/3″ closed. Knife has never been used or carried, it does have a very small scratch on the handle – see last photo. Up for sale is an extremely rare, vintage, custom made, one-of-a-kind, Pat Crawford Demascus Folding Knife. This knife was made for me in 1988. At that time, I ordered 3 custom knives from 3 great makers, Frank Centofante, Pat Crawford, and Butch Vallotton. Although the 3 knives were completely different and unique in their own rights, I ordered all 3 with the same handle material. Please see photo of the receipt for details and description straight from the master maker. The other unique thing about this knife is the locking mechanism. You basically press apart at the base of the handle to lock and unlock. I contacted Pat and he told me he calls this technique The Squeeze Blade. Any serious custom knife collector will know how rare this knife is. Will never be another made like this one ever! Condition: Almost 30 years old MINT! The only difference in mine is the blade was polished to remove the surface rust that all Damascus knives get when carried for more than 10 minutes. You can still see the “1735DAM” on the base of the blade and you can still see the Damascus pattern, in order to get the color variance you see in normal Damascus, and like this one HAD before it rusted, you dip the blade in a type of acid.. I think you use hydrochloric acid (muriatic acid)? I’m not sure, but if you want a perfect piece for restoration to add to your collection, this one is perfect because it was taken apart and repacked with silicone grease, and yes I put all the parts back on it, none were left over. Nylon discs are all in place, and in the right places too and none of the tiny Torx heads were damaged. I sharpened the blade twice in the course of carry and use but the factory edge was not ground off. I’ve been caring for and using Kershaw knives since about 1989 so I’m familiar with how they operate as well as how to fix and or repair Kershaw brand knives… Which have all dropped in quality over the last 5 years or so but this is when they still made a good, solid knife that didn’t dull every time you use it, now everything is junk anymore. The knife is 3-7/8″ long folded and 6-13/16″ long opened, the blade is exactly 3 long. You will get the knife and it’s original box like you see in the pictures and nothing more, please look closely at the pictures and if you need more of them, or more measurements PLEASE ask!
