For your consideration is a folding knife created by Robert Carter, with a damascus steel blade forged with a dense feather pattern, and damascus steel bolsters. The scales are made of mammoth ivory and the thumb stud also has a mammoth ivory inlay. The liners and backspacer are made of anodized titanium (brown and green respectively), and have some very nice filework. The screws are gold plated. Blade centers well and has a solid lock. Opens smoothly with the flick of a thumb. The only things that could be considered flaws would be some minor imperfections with the mammoth ivory scales, mainly along the front and spine, visible in pictures 3,4, & 5. Mammoth ivory is apparently not a very uniform material. Handmade lockback by Doc Hagen who started making knives in 1972, Guild member since 1976, and Dentist since 1968. Blade and beveled bolsters from the maker’s own Damascus. Beautiful smooth and polished bark Mammoth scales with lots of color including green. Blade is tight, centered with nice snap. Original tooled little belt sheath. Streaks and smudges are fingerprints and polish residue. Shadows and bubbles are from the camera. Ships to 50 states only. On the top of the front scale near the bolster where two different colors come together there is a tiny gap. It’s not on the front of the scale – just on top where two section meet.
