I think the beauty of “knife making and cutlery” is being able to feel what you are doing and have a real vision of knife that you create. I make folders with liner lock, as it is my favorite type, with carved and pearl inlay for handle, but it is very hard to work with because of cracking at the slightest mistake. For this reason, the number of knives that I make is very limited and cost more higher since the error can be happen during making. Because most of my knives go in the collections use a lot of Mosaic Damascus (created by welknow damascus maker such as Robert Calcinore, Robert Eggerring). Also sometime I do use D2 or ATS-34 because it is strong and good for everyday use. I can also able to make other lock type like balisongs, lock back to give a variety of my work. Jangtanong is a world-renowned third-generation knife maker living in the Uthai Thani province of Thailand, which is located in the central part of the nation approximately 200 kilometers from Bangkok. He is part of a five-person knife making team called Thita (meaning strong and stable), which consists of a former tattoo artist turned scrimshaw designer, a monk, his sister and two others.
