The blade is Damascus Steel etched with “Tirpitz Damast” on one side, “Boker Solingen 300 Lagen” on the other and features dual thumb studs. The combination of the Tirpitz Battleship steel and carbon tool steels creates an extremely rugged Damascus steel which has a hardness of 60 HRC and can handle any cutting task with ease. The pattern “Great Pyramids”, with more than 300 layers, adorns the mighty 4 blade and makes this piece the highlight of any collection. The handle is AlMgSi1 Aluminum with a Walnut Wood inlay with Tirpitz and Crest etching and a reversible pocket clip for tip-up or tip-down carry. This knife is presented in a unique Display Box and Certificate of Authenticity. After being sunken by the Brisith Royal Air Force in 1944, a Norwegian specialty company retrieved parts of the Tirpitz which are made of a special alloyed steel.
