I think the beauty of “knife making and cutlery” is being able to feel what you are doing and have a real vision of knife that you create. I make folders with liner lock, as it is my favorite type, with carved and pearl inlay for handle, but it is very hard to work with because of cracking at the slightest mistake. A beautiful quality 8 chef’s knife made in Japan. The steel has the folded look of “Damascus” steel. It looks unused to me – certainly never sharpened. Over it’s travels, however, it has picked up a 1/32 knick (clearly shown in pics) – it will need to be sharpened to eliminate this and restore the knife to fine condition.
