#723 Boker Solingen M4 Sherman Damast 3.03 Damascus Blade, Micarta Pocket Knife. New never cut or carried. Comes with everything you see in the photos. The extraordinary Boker M4 Sherman-Damascus is a piece of living history and combines high-quality craftsmanship with historical materials. The American M4 Sherman was already designed in 1940 and is still considered one of the most famous tanks in history. It was produced between 1942 and 1945, was in service until 1957 and was used on all battlefields of the Second World War – not only by the United States and Canada, but also by Great Britain, the Free French Forces, China and even the Soviet Union. Hand-forged Damascus Blade made from materials from refurbished M4 Sherman tanks. Micarta handles colored to match the camouflage paint used by the US Army and Marine Corps from the 1940s. Solid steel frame lock. Hinderer Lock-Stop for overstretch protection. Hand crafted in Solingen, Germany. The Boker M4 Sherman Damascus Folding Knife is a piece of history you can carry with you every day. This unique collector’s item combines high quality Boker craftsmanship and historic materials. The M4 Sherman Tank, the most widely used tank of the Allies during World War II, was produced beginning in 1942, and was in service until 1957. Designed to support the infantry, lead attacks and reinforce defensive positions, there were close to 50,000 of these vehicles manufactured. Together with the Americans in Wartime Museum in Virginia, Boker has created this limited edition folding knife to preserve this piece of history. Each of the Damascus blades of these knives is forged from various materials from the production of M4 Sherman tanks that have been previously restored by the museum. The attention to detail on the Sherman Damascus Knife is incredible. The unique Damascus is hand forged by Chad Nichols, and the pattern is a custom “Ladder” reminiscent of the tracks left on the ground by these remarkable tanks. The ball bearing blade is opened using a thumb stud and locked with a solid steel frame lock, and a Hinderer Lock-Stop acts as overstretch protection for the lock. The shape of this unique piece was designed to pay tribute to the lines of the armor of the Sherman Tank, and the decorative blade axle screw resembles the main drive sprocket wheel. The jute Micarta handle, angled slightly to rest comfortably in your hand, is the color of a combination of the camouflage paint used by both the US Army and the Marine Corps of the time. A lanyard hole and deep carry pocket clip (tip-up, right) make this piece easy to carry. This extraordinary knife comes in a floating display, is serialized, and comes accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Features of the Boker M4 Sherman Damascus Folding Knife. CIVIVI Knives are the kind that you give as a gift to a friend, whether or not they’re into knives. Anyone will feel the quality and attention to detail as soon as they pick one up yet their price points will signify that these knives are built to be used. As direct competitors against the Spyderco Tenacious and Ontario RAT 1, it’s honestly no comparison and we definitely know which is the best choice. Considering the materials are comparable, the amazing action that CIVIVI Knives possesses makes them the knives to beat in terms of the value folding market. The original Synergy was designed by retired mechanical design engineer turned competitive shooter Jim O’Young and produced by CIVIVI’s sister company WE Knives. Jim leveraged his knowledge and experience to design and engineer the SpeedTech Synergy folding knife using SolidWorks, a state-of-the-art, 3-dimensional, solid modeling CAD software tool. It was the very first knife created using this technology and featured several design elements never seen before in a production folding knife: an ergonomic, fully 3D digitally sculpt surface handle machined from a single, solid billet of material, a captive floating bearing system, and a button lock with increased engagement geometry. The Synergy was truly way ahead of its time and was awarded the Most Innovative American Design at the 1999 BLADE Show by its industry peers. On the 20th anniversary of the original Synergy design, Jim partnered with WE Knives to continue the legacy and introduce an updated and re-engineered Synergy 2 to the next generation of cutlery enthusiasts. The CIVIVI Synergy 3 gives you the exact same profile as the original and WE Knives designs with much more attention paid to the price point. You still have the impressive action thanks to the caged ceramic bearings and the same wildly ergonomic handle, now made from 3D machined G10. It’s been shrunk down a tad making it more suitable for everyday carry and not catching an unwanted eye.
