Seki city, Japan has been the centre of Japanese cutlery production since the middle of the13th century. The techniques and skills of traditional swordsmiths have been passed down for centuries and continues to develop with modern technology. Mcusta combines the traditional Japanese craftsmanship with modern machinery and design software. Unlike other brands, Mcusta does not use the conventional method of die stamping their blades. Every component is CNC machined and laser cut to assure the best possible precision fit. Each knife is then hand assembled and hand finished and inspected by Mcusta’s craftsmen. The Take is a small dress folder with eye catching aesthetics and excellent balance. The African Ebony wood handles are contoured to resemble bamboo. The blade is a 33 layer VG-10 core nickel Damascus. Blued stainless steel hardware and thumb stud add a nice touch to the design and to top it off, the Take comes with a beautiful Japanese Nishjin carry pouch. These knives are a testament to fine Japanese craftsmanship. They reflect beauty in simplicity of design, while being a totally functional piece of cutlery. Overall length 16.5 cm. Blade length 7 cm.
