HIGONOKAMI Rare Especialy Damascus Folding Japanese Knife Genuine NAGAO KANEKOMA. This is a genuine Especialy Damascus Blue steel Hand forging knife handmade by the long-established Japanese knife maker “Nagao Kanekoma Factory”. The fifth generation Higonokami blacksmith, Mitsuo Nagao, handmade it with great care, and it is very rare with the highest peak knife in the Higonokami series. Eight layers of the finest blue steel and mild steel with excellent sharpness and durability are layered and forged by hand to make Especialy Damascus. Especialy Damascus does not have the same pattern, so it is the only knife you own in the world. The back of the brass handle is engraved with a picture of a tiger trying to come out of the bamboo bush and Mr. Nagao’s famous name. Since it is a V-shaped double-edged blade, it can be used regardless of the dominant hand. Material: Blue steel Damascus hand forging “Warikomi”. Handle (Scabbard) Material: Brass. BEAUTIFUL HAND MADE DAMASCUS STEEL. Hand Forged Damascus Steel Blade. This beautiful folding knife was designed and made by John henry. Knife is not only stunning in looks but it is also rock solid because of robust construction with its 3 mm thick blade. Beautiful Damascus blade of the knife is the result of hours and hours of forging. Not many makers can keep such pattern of layers upon layers flowing all the way to the edge of the blade, which creates a saw-blade effect at microscopic level, allowing the blade to keep cutting while other blades have dulled. Hand forged the blade of this knife with 1095 and 15N20 high carbon steel true layers (512). Blade was given excellent heat treatment and Rockwell hardness of the blade along its edge is 54 and along the spine is 42-45. 3 mm thick blade has fantastic hand grinds on both side with top side left with a false edge. Overall length of this knife is whopping 9.0″ and the length of the blade is 4.0″. Superb handle is a work of art. It is made of damascus with brass pins & strong epoxy for life time durability. This sheath is no t of universal size but it is made custom just as this custom knife. The knife come with custom made genuine top quality calf skin. Which fits on knife perfectly.
